Default City Fire at Brownwood

Had lunch at the bar today. Nice layout with the bar 1/2 in and 1/2 out. My meat loaf was very good, came with mashed potato's and asparagus. Nice size slice also. My friend had a blackened chicken breast sandwich on garlic bread that was very good also. The breast was huge, had to take half home for later.
I know they are the only show in town and we were there at an off hour but they had a decent amount of people there.

Had dinner there last night and it was most enjoyable.
Sadly we had to sit indoors due the large number of smokers at the bar outside, including one patron puffing on a big fat stogie!
Can't understand how smoking is allowed at these outdoor licensed premises.

I had dinner there, had to sit at the bar because it was so crowded, it was okay. They did cut off one person to soda who was drinking a little too much, glad to see they are monitoring those who indulge too much.

Default You must have been there at a REALLY OFF hour !

You must have been there at a really off hour. My experience has been that the only thing the hosts know how to do is pass out pagers and tell you it will be at least 20 minutes. Today there was only one couple seated outside so I went inside to get what I thought would be a quick table. There were two dazed hostesses staring at a table chart who told be it would be about 20 minutes. When I pointed out that there were many tables outside that were open, she replied "we are just getting the setting figured out and there are people waiting ahead of you". Maybe if the Brownwood City Fire would get some Hosts that know how to seat people in open tables as opposed to always passing out pagers; things would move more quickly. But, as you say, they are the only show in town and do not appear to be the least bit concerned about loosing business. Not entirely their fault. If The Villages vendor management would have let a restaurant in there the knows how to service people (i.e. Sonny's) maybe there would not be so many going hungry. We chose, AGAIN, to hit a vendor on the square. At least they appreciate your business!

Sonny's vs City Fire? no contest - I'll wait the 20 minutes.

Have you tried the City Fire at BROWNWOOD. The new one. It sucks. Any restaurant would do better. And my main complaint is the way they treat you. They don't care. Now you may be willing to wait needlessly and get bad food. But not me.

Had a great experience at Brownwood - had to wait a little, but I was in no hurry. Love the atmosphere and their food.

I love City Fire. Both of them. I've been to the one in Brownwood several times. Never had a problem. Waited about 20 minutes one time. I think they are a class act.

We love City Fire and we LOVE that there is the opportunity to sit outside and smoke. We SURELY don't and wouldn't ever dream of lighting up in a non smoking atmosphere as we respect non smokers not to mention it's the law but still wouldn't out of respect. Too bad most non smokers have no consideration, respect or understanding for the smoker.

Love City Fire in both locales. But I do not like being next to a smoker outside at ANY restaurant. Florida is a little behind the times on matters like this (but not alone: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._United_States)

Doesn't stop me but I will ask to move a few tables over if the wind is blowing in my direction.

Mom and I ate at the City Fire in Brownwood last Saturday after we did the Farmer's Market. It was our first time there! The place was packed and we had about a 20 minute wait. The service was good, food was delicious and we will definitely go back. Loved the Farmer's Market!

our experience was the same, I won't give them a second chance until they have time to get it together!
