I think Mallory Hill is one of the last independently owned, with the original chef owner, country club restaurants left in TV....

I as well. A lot of good people out of work and their lively hoods ruined. Of all the bitching I've heard on TOTV and other sources about Cody's I've never had an unsolved issue with any of them with food or service. The only real observation I've made about restaurants in the villages is the level of rude and arrogant customers acting like the world owes them a living and their treatment of servers. I hope they're smart enough to stay home now.

It’s time for some new restaurants to move into the Villages. The ones here have been here forever and most are owned by the same people so each restaurant is a various of the same. Not saying they are bad but sometimes new is good too.

TV and fine dining
Chop House is the one restaurant that can be called fine dining. Bonefish is
next. Just our opinion from trying those available. We had heard that the re-do of Lopez restaurant was great, but after two tries there we have definitely removed it from any future plans. It "pretends" to be upscale, but totally falls flat. Appearance is an attempt at "big city" sophistication, but staff, attitude and menu are sorely lacking. Hopefully it will improve as it settles in. |
