We've been out of state and returned to discover Evergreen undergoing renovations, hope they reopen as buffet again.

Saw an article in yesterdays Daily Sun that Evergreen was taking out the buffet and would only be offering dine in (by menu selection) and take out only. Very disappointed.

I hope the cockroaches are making a living wage participating in this renovation.

OMG, Does that mean we no longer need to worry that some of the buffet items are cat meat?

Don't be disappointed. The food now is more likely to be freshly cooked to order and not sitting for ? hours on a steam table. Much safer (and tastier) for consumption.

We are all different> My sibling's response to a restaurant that had to close because of a roach problem and then reopened was problem solved I love Chinese and I'm back. Mine is never again
I enjoyed the Evergreen buffet never witness a problem but now never would go back under any circumstances just can't get the image out of my mind |

I would like to make a bet to anyone ... that I can't find a roach or bug in any restaurant after 15 min.
Where there is food or new boxes of food there are bugs... some dead some alive.. have it your way. |

We should give the new Evergreen a look. It may be a very nice eat-in Chinese restaurant, and the idea of having such a place could be a nice change of pace. Thai Ruby comes to mind.

Well, this IS Florida where bugs of all types thrive. I imagine it would be very difficult, if not impossible, to run any type of kitchen in a completely sterile bug free environment here much as we like to think otherwise.
When I lived in England many years ago, our favorite local Chinese restaurant was closed by food inspectors due to feline meat, being substituted for chicken, (as in "the other white meat".) Photos displayed in the newspaper of (thankfully empty) cat traps, dispelled any idea of the offence being a myth. Much later the place reopened under new owners and new name. We decided to give the new owners a chance. Food was good, and frequent food inspectors gave the place a "pass" Everyone deserves a second chance. |
