Not a person, a prairie dog.

Tried the new Culvers twice - custard great, the rest just average fast food - Steak & Shake better burgers.

Well, My opinion Culver's is better, IMO S&S fries are pathetic. Plus Culver's has the tenderloin sandwich which I prefer over burgers anywhere, to each there own? Also IMO BK and Culver's has the best fries. MD and S&S fries are bottom crawlers IMO of course:shocked:

The one here went out of business

I'm a big fan of shrimp of any kind, so last week I had the 6 piece shrimp dinner with cole slaw and fries, I believe it was $8.89. They also have a 10 piece but I was barely able to eat what I had. I loved the meal, fries were very good with ketchup, shrimp and the cocktail sauce was good and the cole slaw was excellent. My wife had the chicken breast sandwich and liked it as much or better than Chick Filet.

We went back again this week and I had the same meal, and it was still great. I'm going to have to try something else because the shrimp dinner never leaves room for a custard dessert. My wife had a 2 piece chicken tenders with a side salad and she liked what she had. The tenders are very big and she wasn't sure if she could eat 4, but a basket allows you to order 2 and for 30 cents more she got a side salad instead of fries.

Had a Butterburger. The bun and fixin's were very good, but Where's the Beef? The patty was thinner than my underwear.

From their website...

MAY 3rd -ENJOY FRESH FROZEN CUSTARD FOR $1
That’s right, all day long on Scoops of Thanks Day, you’ll receive a scoop of Fresh Frozen Custard in exchange for your $1 donation to an FFA chapter or other local agricultural organization. For the chance to enjoy a delicious, creamy scoop of Fresh Frozen Custard for only $1, how could you not stop by?

Stopped for "custard yesterday" wife and I convinced that it is the same formula and taste as McD. for $1.29 more.

I thought that long post up thread was a joke. None of it seemed feasible.

We went there Thursday evening around 7 :15. Observed the parking lot packed and drive thru jammed. Came in and ordered our food. Got the food relatively quick but long wait for shakes. Seems the place was over whelmed by the multiple individual orders for various ice cream cone, smoothie, and shakes. Worker told us best time to avoid the zombie hour! LOL.

Probably better for you heart! I usually never order hamburgers? Do they come in different sizes and layers?

Our 50th anniversary is in 3 weeks. I was considering Culver’s for our special 50th anniversary dinner but went there for the first time to check out their food a week ago . Sorry, I’ll take our party to Wendy’s or steak and shake. As a “fast foodie/junk foodie for life” that was by far the worst alleged hamburger I have ever scarfed down. It was like “hey, have some burger with your salt” and I am obviously NOT fussy when it comes to food. The “custard “ was ok but when they call it a “mix in” they should actually MIX IT IN and not just sprinkle the Oreos on top.

Was all excited when I first heard about Culver’s. A new junkyfood place to eat. Boy was it ever a letdown. Yuch.

Looks like Wendy’s for our special day.

Wow, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th? :jester::beer3: yes, I know, bad joke!

Chatbrat 05-05-2018 04:40 PM

When you travel and see them all over--"what's to get excited about"-- would you all get excited when another fast food junk food restaurant opened in TV

My English teacher friend had a great marriage. His wife had a sense of humor and he would always introduce Cathy as his first wife. She along with everyone else would laugh every time.

Ahh c'mon, BK is woefully inadequate...for 50 years.

Much more appropriate for the occasion...would be Golden Corral.

:D

48 years in August.
My husband used to refer to our oldest son as CFrance's son by her first marriage.

I was selling my country home in the Pine Barrens of NJ myself and a potential buyer, female, from NYC asked if I had any pets. I thought I was clever because I said "I didn't want someone living here that didn't look like me." Without missing a beat she said "I can find a dog that looks like you." I decided selling a house is not a good time to interject humor with women from NYC.

Had the worse Rubin every mad at Culvers. Came as a soggy mess. bread so wet it fell apart. UGh

vinricci 06-19-2018 04:46 PM

We can’t agree on the burger. The patty looked like someone stepped on it and without the tomato and mayo would have had no taste at all.

Rapscallion St Croix 06-19-2018 07:11 PM

Having enjoyed the custard, I took the plunge and had a burger. Apparently, the cook was unaware that the flavor of meat is in the juices as all the taste had been pressed out of my patty. The cold bottom bun was in interesting touch.

Sorry to hear. I had the Reuben when I was there and it tasty and not soggy at all. That kind of inconsistency is what finally made me stop going to Crispers.

ColdNoMore 06-20-2018 06:10 AM

Tried Culver's twice.

The second time, was to see if my totally unsatisfactory first visit...was just an anomaly.

It wasn't. :ohdear:

Cheese Burgers, the perfect meal covering all the food groups except beer and fruit (I have never bought that ole "tomatoes are fruit" baloney). I have tried all the joints that don't have drive thru windows...Metro Diner, Dennys, Bowling Alley, Five Guys, Country Clubs, Johnny Rockets, etc. Yesterday's cheeseburger at IHOP was the best by far.

Must be the heat, NotGolfer. Nothing better to cure it than a nice serving of something cold and sweet, like their frozen custard. I love it with the fresh strawberries.

I NEVER meet all this negativity in person, do you?

Volley and serve, but you don't have to eat, just like rooting for your home town team, but when asked how they play --be honest and say they stink when they really do

Chi-Town 06-21-2018 10:17 AM

Had my first ButterBurger almost 30 years ago in Baraboo, WI. Had my second and last one here last month.
