You are spot on about "what's good to me might be terrible to you". Like another posted "I liked it but the wife didn't". Pizza taste is similar to wine tasting in that its a "personal thing".

We have tried several mentioned in this thread and it has been a mixed bag. For some reason, we keep going back to Bravo at LSL...... We are fairly easy to please and will do a frozen thin crust Digiorno occasionally and "Doctor" it up a bit.

Making your own English Muffin pizza is probably better than most of the dreck you get that is passed off as pizza in TV.

First of all, real pizza is sauce and cheese on a thin crust. Once you start adding all the insane toppings that those from the hinterlands think makes a true pizza all you are left with is a soggy flatbread sandwich.

For me, it's not a pizza without anchovies.

I can still remember the year, it was 1973. A fellow from work was visiting, I don't remember why because I thought he was kind of goofy, but he stopped by. We were having a couple of beers and he said, would you like some pizza. He picked up the phone and started dialing and asked, do you want anything special on it, I said no, whatever you want. The pizza arrived and it had anchovies. I had never seen little sardines on a pizza before. I picked them off my slice and the taste wouldn't go away, worse possible food flavor I've ever tried to eat. Who would of thought fish could taste so salty. How you can eat that I'll never know. If you ever capture any terrorist and during questioning they ask for food, this would be my choice to give them.

Publix (in the bakery section) has pizza dough that's all ready rolled out and folded over into a rectangle. There's usually bags of pepperoni next to it. Unfold it and brush it with a little olive oil and you've got an excellent pizza shell. Just add sauce and mozzarella. We use a round pizza pan but a pizza stone might even work better. How hard is that!

John, it certainly looks like a good pizza, though I am not overly fond of anchovies. But what strikes me is this: you have a picture of a pizza from 1973?? That you can find??? I'm impressed.
