I was wondering if anyone else has had this experience at Eaton's Beach.
While paying cash for a bill did your server come over and say they forgot to put a small charge on the bill then ask you to throw in the cash to cover it without it being printed on the bill? Red flags started to go up a little. I'm hoping they just made an honest mistake because prior to that we had a nice time there.
Please let me know if this as ever happened to you there are anywhere else around here.

Never had it happen, but if it did, I would ask for a new bill. I would not pay for something in a restaurant that isn't on a computer generated bill.
Too many service personnel being arrested for theft lately.

Any restaurant can update the bill to the correct amount and print it out.

There would be no way I would agree to something like that unless it was printed out on a receipt. I do hope you remember the name of your server and contact the manage as suggested.

Why wouldn't you just have them print out a new bill ?

Talking about bills--Rice & Beans, asks the customer, to slide their own card thru the POS computer & sign on the touch screen

No ?'s, no chance of an unscrupulous person double billing

Way to go--would love to see other establishments do this !!
