Food in The Villages
Maybe its because I'm getting older but why can't the restaurants in The Villages produce good food. Maybe we need Bar Rescue or Restaurant Impossible in here. Need to teach the servers to be present when they are working,That would help to.

What is your definition of "good food"?

These threads are getting as popular as dog poop ones.
I ALWAYS have decent food and GOOD service at Cane Garden, The Lighthouse, Mallory, Nancy Lopez, Arnold Palmer, Glenview, and Toojays. Off campus at Oakwood Barbecue.

Reminds me of the old Woodie Allen joke, "The food at that place is terrible, and in such small portions. " :-)

Yeah, but is "decent" really a standard of excellence?

Here's my take on that. If you ask a veteran golfer how he/she plays and he/she says "decent". Then you can bet that means "excellent".

What ?
If there's no decent food in TV why do you have to wait for a seat at most places when you go. Wait another month ans see how many people are waiting for this non decent TV food. Geez !!

Why did DDoug move to The Villages in the first place? Surely he was here on a LS visit or rented for a while. where he checked out to see if the quality of the food and restureants were up to his standards.

Once again, I fail to see an issue. Reasonable prices, usually nothing bad about the food, appeals to people from diverse areas of USA, and way easier than cooking at home.

Food, like MANY other things is really subjective. One person's good, decent, bad etc. is another's poor, awful, wonderful. There never will be agreement.
Gotta try things for yourself and make the call. |

The restaurants here do a decent job of providing what I think most people want. They want it fast, they want it cheap and they want lots of it. Add to that they are catering to diverse palates from across the country-not an easy job. What I think it comes down to is the difference between eating and dining. The difference between a chef in the kitchen or a cook assembling meals. I don't think people here go out to dine, they go out to socialize and eat. I personally don't like onion powder, garlic powder and canned gravy, but I can always find something on the menu. I happen to think Sakura is excellent and love Twojay's for my deli fix.
