Default Friday Fish Fry

Coming from Wisconsin, Friday night, any time of the year (but especially during Lent), means Fish Fry. Who features a Fish Fry, on their menu on Fridays in (and around) TV?

Continental Country Club on hwy 44 has one. Lighthouse on LSL is pretty good. BUT it will be hard to find what you're used to in Wisconsin down here. We're from the Midwest too...haven't found anything close. We live in a different part of the country now so it's tough to find the "down home cooking" we've had in our past.

We've had several in The Villages we enjoyed although they may not be quite what you are used to. Athens NY in Spanish Springs has a haddock fry, Gators does a catfish as does The Lighthouse and several other restaurants. We like to try things that we haven't had before and once in a while are disappointed but usually are glad we gave it a try.

Yeah, I know. Things are always better "back home". It's a wonder anyone moves here.

The owners of Athens are Greeks from Rochester, NY where haddock fish fry on Fridays is the only thing to eat. It is just like home.

Fisherman's Cove Restaurant on Rt 44 west of Brownwood about 10 minutes (across from Wild Bill's Airboat Rides). Small "hole in the wall" type restaurant with outstanding fish fry which is beer battered haddock. Lots of seafood choices plus other goodies. Clean, friendly, down home cooking. Best kept secret in TV.
