Jeanne,
TooJay's is a great place for lunch if you like deli-style sandwiches. They have locations in Spanish Springs (SS) and Lake Sumter Landing (LSL). I like Cane Garden Country Club as well for Dinner. I will be visiting from 4/1 to 4/14 myself. Can't wait to get away from the cold here in Buffalo, NY.

Those are all great choices...

If you go to Cattle Baron, stick with the basics. Their steaks are quite good and they have a good salad bar. A friend had the Mahi one night which was also good. I would avoid the items with all kinds of sauces. There are far too many of them for all to be fresh.

At Thai Ruby the degree of spiciness is geared to TV. So if you like spice tell them and they will adjust for you.

Generally Cane Garden is a good choice for lunch or dinner also..it is a more casual menu than at Lopez, but generally pretty good. I think Glenview makes a good burger and they have a nice view.

Mostly...have fun!

All of the above mentioned restaurants are good choices. I like urban flats for lunch or dinner, they make an excellent espresso martini !

Pizza at Cane Garden is pretty good. We were at Glenview last night, Lobster Special looked very good, I had the trout that was good too. View at Glenview is very nice.

Default Litehouse

We put the Litehouse at Lake Sumter Landing right near the top of those already listed. Being able to go there on our golf cart for either a casual lunch or dinner, and seeing the beautiful view, is one of the things that makes TV feel like a permanent vacation. The food is excellent, especially their shrimp in various forms...totally fresh and crisp. And prices are very reasonable.

Read the Sun and look for specials. Palmer had Prime rib and Glenview had twin lobsters the other week at rediculously low prices. Both CCs are good too
Toojays for bfast or lunch is a personal fav

Good job Chuck - you beat me to it! The gourmet club site is a terrific source of information on the TV area eating places. My personal favorites are, Toojays, The Lighthouse, Cane Garden, Palmer, and Bonefish Grill. Katie Belles Sunday brunch is a winner too IMHO.

I should have included the Lighthouse in my list, it is one of our favorites.

Also, add Gator Joe's (on Lake Weir in Ocklawaha) to the list for view and ambience. http://www.gatorjoesocala.com/

Lots of good choices here. Add Codys at Lake Sumter to the list. Endless salad, great ribs, prime rib, etc. $2.00 bar burgers if you sit at the bar. Great inexpensive bar menu. Good music on the patio Tues, Thurs & Sun from 5 - 9. Lots of fun !!!
