Glenview Restaurant Questionable Charge
I paid for two drinks at the bar for $9.10 Tuesday evening. On Wednesday, upon review of my charges, Glenview Restaurant has a pending charge of $50.00 on my account. Why charge $50 when my receipt is for $9.10???
What is the deal with this??? Is it legal??? |

Call Glenview and ask to speak to the manager.

Maybe the server added a $40.90 tip.....years ago they caught a server at Cody's changing the amount of the tip.

You wrote that the $50 charge is pending. The final charge to your account will be the correct amount.

Restaurants almost always authorize a pending charge that is different from the final charge. When you eat at a table, they will charge the exact amount for the meal as a pending charge and then add the tip to it later in the final charge. I always pay cash in restaurants, unless I can swipe my own card and make one charge that becomes the final charge. I don't like them tinkering with my credit card account charges after I leave.

Yes, agree on most of the above. You should see that it was probably a 'hold' on your account, and it should disappear.

Many places put the $50 pending charge. When it is posted, it will be the correct amount. If not, dispute it with your card company.
