Default Havana Country Club

We have heard the good and the bad about Havana and decided to give it a try. We had dinner there years ago but never went back, not sure why not. The food and service tonight were great. What made me sad was that there were so few people dining there. Hopefully it was because of the rain. Please give Havana our business. It is a beautiful country club and we need to support our restaurants.

Happy to hear you had a good experience at Havana. The facility is indeed beautiful, and it is too bad they don't have much of a following as far as the restaurant goes. Unfortunately it wasn't the rain that kept the crowd down. It was the food/service combination that has not measured up to consumers' expectations since opening day.
Chris is a super guy, but he cannot run a bar/restaurant to save his soul. After 4 tries, we gave up on the restaurant.
The bar is okay, but that's because of the bartenders, in spite of management.
You cannot have a successful country club without a reasonable food service operation. And that hasn't happened since the place opened. It is time for someone else to take over at Havana.
My opinion...

Maybe the overhaul should include changing the name of the club so that it gets a completely fresh start.

really a shame; havana has a great location, lovely setting overlookng the golf course. sadly, food and service have been the biggest obstacle. and the drawn-out threatened lawsuit by the neighbors over the patio 'noise' kept havana in the news but for all of the wrong reasons. yes, chris is a real nice guy.....but the time is up. let us hope that a new direction leads to success.

I go to Havana often after golf and I like it, the service, and the food. The service is a bit slower than Cane, but it does not give one that rushed feeling you get at Cane. BTW, I like Cane also.

I've been there a couple of times and both times the food was good and the service was excellent. I'll keep going there.

You can't do that, you need to keep paying the rent until the lease is up.

Went to Havana last night for dinner after our Parrot Head meeting. I got the shrimp scampi with garlic bread. I have to say it was very good and I have more than enough left over for another meal. Hubby got a burger. It was really good. Great flavor.
We were both very happy with our meals.
We ate at the bar & had wonderful service !!
There was a nice crowd with good entertainment.

His last name was Sessa. Can't remember his first name. I think Tommy. He did a lot of Sinatra. He had a great voice ! Sad thing is he is playing there only one more time. He is moving back to New York.
