From Wikipedia:

"Hooters, Inc. was incorporated in Clearwater, Florida, on April 1, 1983, by six Clearwater businessmen: Lynn D. Stewart, Gil DiGiannantonio, Ed Droste, Billy Ranieri, Ken Wimmer and Dennis Johnson. The date was an April Fools' Day joke because the original six owners believed that their prospect was going to fail. Their first Hooters Restaurant was built on the site of a former rundown nightclub that had been purchased at a low price. So many businesses had folded in that particular location that the Hooters founders built a small "graveyard" at the front door for each that had come and gone before them. The first restaurant opened its doors on October 4, 1983, in Clearwater"

Bill Ranieri was a gas station owner in south suburban Chicago near my mother's house. In the early 1980's he sold the gas station and retired to Clearwater to a life of golf and leisure. After a few years he and his golf buddies decided to open a hamburger joint and named it Hooters.

I have had a few beers and eaten at several Hooters restaurants around the country and find them enjoyable.

Balderdash! It was never in The Villages so it can't "come back". That being said, if it does come to TV, I predict it will be quite successful provided it is golf cart accessible. And yes, I agree, the former Lugino's would be perfect.

Our daughters always want to go to Hooters when they have a chance, because the wings are so good. I have never argued with them..

I remember a couple of years ago seeing Hooters on Rte 200 across from the Paddock Mall in Ocala. It looked sort of rundown and landscaping was a mess, I guess it was on the way out at the time. Ocala does already have a Tilted Kilt on Silver Springs Rd. I believe they have a bigger menu. Do a Google search of their name and click images, you'll see they are very similar business plan.

Haven't seen many waitresses around in the bubble I'd care to look at in the attire customary at Hooters.

This subject is a Complete and Total waste of time. I have been to Hooters in Ocala, once and once too often.

Now, Buffalo Wild Wings has good wings but Hooters is mediocre at best. We have a Hooters in my adopted hometown which is about the size of TV. I will be surprised to see a Hooters in TV but then I've been surprised before.

Other way around, scantily well endowed young women serve the food and drink.

There was a small hot dog joint in Ft. Myers Beach that was purchased by Hooters with the hope of expanding the location. The requested expansion was denied but the restaurant made the best of it by advertising it as the world's smallest Hooters. And amazingly it is enjoyed by families with kids.
