Which is correct: We go quite often as noted above

or your post from January of this year in another thread about Mezza Luna: "I have to say, we used to go there quite often and enjoyed it, but we haven't been there for quite awhile.
I just never think about."

or another post from that same thread that says: you go to places because you like the Bartender.

We actually started going back again more often. And I love the bartenders at Mezza Luna !

If it's a restaurant we like and I say we haven't been there in awhile, that usually means about 2 weeks.

I do not know what your chances are of becoming King of North America, but just in case, I thought I would try to garner favor by letting you know that you are not alone in your opinion stated above.

For 40 years, Lake Superior State University has published a list of words that should be banished.

The word you are talking about here is on the list. That's the good news.

But. . .the bad news is (sigh) the word appeared on the list in 1995. So LSSU is having no success with the banishment.

If you look at the link, you can find the latest list and individual years with details. I must warn you though that looking at the complete list is like watching your life pass before your eyes.

Well, enough from me with my interruption of this fascinating thread. (Perhaps I will be banished.)

But before I go, Your Potential Majesty, I will leave you with the link to the list. I think you might think it is fun to see. -- Or you might send me off to the tower.

Laurie, I think you should start a new thread with this list. I haven't read the whole thing yet, but it's fascinating.
"accidents that didn't have to happen" and "24/7" are two of my favorites.

Hi Barefoot,

Thanks for liking my post. I, too, think the list is fascinating.

As far as starting a new thread on the topic goes, I can't. -- When I wrote that earlier, I was on my regular computer. Now, I am on my iPad where I will remain for a while. Shameless confession: I do not know how to do a link on my iPad.

So I hope you will allow me to hand off this torch of knowledge about the LSSU List of Words to you. Please take it and run with it and start a new thread.

Thank you.

Thank you Gracie and Laurie. I guess I'm a semi Luddite too! My daughter would say that and more.

Best wishes to the two of you ladies.

They forgot one, skillset.
On the radio someone pointed out that you have skills, not a set of skills. It sounds smarter but adds nothing.

Psssst, Tom,

It is there. Go to the link, look to the left, click on the 2015 list, and scroll down. It's there just beyond 'polar vortex.'

You're welcome,
Laurie

How did we get Luddites involved in this thread? Interesting choice of terminology.

Laurie, I'm also on my iPad now; and I also do not know how to do a link. Let's not tell anyone tho.
Thus the torch is handed over to Bogie who knows how to do everything -- I bet he can link it.
