Today we went to Artman BBQ, located on Hwy 301 and Hwy 42. First off, I will say that we couldn’t have received better service from our server, Ethan. He was phenomenal.
But let’s get to the food. We got “Grandpa’s Platter”. It came with some brisket, pulled pork, two little meatballs, and sliced chicken breast, and four sides. We got collard greens, rice/broccoli casserole, green beans, and mac and cheese. They didn’t know the difference between round and flat, (the round has more fat and is juicier than the flat) but we explained it to them. No matter though, they took back the first brisket and brought some back exactly like we ordered. They used oak wood to smoke it, and oh my, it was heavenly! The pulled pork was good, as was the chicken. But they could’ve kept the two meatballs. They were made from ground beef over some kind of cheese, cheddar I think, and bacon around it. And they should have stopped there. But they didn’t. They covered them with some kind of sauce made from mustard and it was tooooo sweet, IMO. We got Texas toast, instead of the cornbread, which is just a matter of personal preference, we like ours made with all corn meal and less sugar, but no matter. The waiter brought it out extra brown and crispy just like wanted! The four sides that we got were really good and we can’t wait to try more because they had several. And to top everything off, they served Dr. Pepper and Pepsi! This easily moved into the top spot for BBQ.

Two of my best friends and I stop by there at least once a month and sometimes twice. We love the place and put it at the top of our BBQ list. We highly recommend it to all BBQ lovers.
