Default Syrup

Soft drinks cost pennies on the dollar for a restaurant. The costs are not anywhere near what you would pay retail. Inside the machines you have a large Co2 bottle and a syrup bottle. The ingredients are mixed as you depress the dispensing tab. Very little syrup is used for each drink dispensed. Restaurants make a killing in the drink market with little for overhead. Your 2.79 soda is less than the cost of quarter in most cases. There is the cost of the cup, lid and straw.

Stop diluting soda's with ice cubes.
Might as well drink water if you have a cup full of ice cubes in drink before filling.

Okay, my question is why do y’all know so much about the prices at McDonalds…let alone when they increase? Looking at most of y’all’s waistlines, it appears you could afford to spend a little less time there anyway.

Thinking more people avoid this with water with lemon. Not paying so much for all that sugar.

That is about a 70% increase in less than 3 weeks.

Is there a sugar shortage or was there an increase in the minimum wage?

Hopefully other restaurants don’t follow along.
Some Mc Ds ask if you want to use their app for 15% off. I'm just not comfortable with my credit card being directly linked to apps on my phone. Is it just me or are your credit or debit cards safe? I think about getting an add funds disposable credit cards but have yet to get one.

You are protected with a credit card but I'd be wary of using a debit card.

We need to boycott all Restraunt’s and eat at home for a year. The prices will go down by them adjusting their greed and not making billions of dollars per quarter.

Right on Brother!
All these restaurants charging for food, and daring to show a profit is disgraceful.
Government should put a stop to it.

We noticed the same thing. We quit going and dropped it from our radar. They will get the message.
A year ago, the Colony site was packed for breakfast all morning. Not so much now. It was empty inside on most summer mornings when I stopped for coffee.

When the cost of living becomes as high as it is today, places like McDonald’s were bound to raise their cost on everything they sell. Paying their employees significantly more than in the past there is no other choice. Having raised four children, McDonald’s was an inexpensive treat for the kids. Today it would be impossible for me to stop for some “MickeyD’s” and their kid boxes with the cheap little toys that encouraged the kids to want to go for a burger. It’s a sad commentary on where we are today. Please don’t misinterpret my words, low paid employees have a real struggle in this economy, but an increase in price was inevitable.

Why greed? Stop complaining about price increases! If you don't like it go cheaper.

Minimum wage has gone up. Probably the rent has gone up. Food and paper costs have gone up. Utilities have gone up. Why do you call it greed when a company wants to make a reasonable profit?

Businesses raise prices constantly - they pick and choose the items - this time drinks, next time ???

A box of paper (5000 sheets) cost me $19.99 in December 2021. The best price I can get it for now is $44.99. If I raise my prices am I greedy?

You have choices!
