Default kungfuasian rest

Went to the new chinese rest next to Publix, got Happy Family $17, egg roll $2.20, soda $3, $5tip, over $27 and it was the first time I've ever left a chinese rest still hungry. My wife had shrimp with lobster sauce and it was nothing but shrimp soup. Again nothing in it. Web site and menu shows dishes piled high with food but that didn't happen with us. I no their new and will try them again but be careful what you order.

Next to Publix? There are 10 Publix stores in The Villages area.

Been there 4 times since they opened ! Only take out, but all meals have been good (for they type of "Chinese" we get in this area I mean !) Have ordered Mu Shu shrimp, Szechuan Chicken, Thai Basil shrimp, house special lo mein, mango chicken, Thai pineapple fried rice, egg rolls, and crab Rangoon... all have been acceptable to good. One evening we ordered the combo dinners (rather than the regular menu) to take out and we we were disappointed when we found the "combo" entree is extremely small, the majority, about 80% was a very tasteless fried rice, so will stick to the regular (not combo) menu. What we did appreciate is the fried items did NOT have that standard VERY OLD GREASE taste of nearly every Chinese carryout...but then it's not even month old yet !

Been to Kungfu Chef and Cheng's both of 466. Cheng's is definitely the choice for carry-out. Items are well packed, tasty, and better value. And quick.

Are there any Chinese buffets open in TV? We use to go to one right near the restaurant they are talking about here and the food was pretty good and you never left hungry. It closed because of covid and buffets were frowned on but it didn't stop Golden Corral.

I agree, it's my favorite of all the Chinese take out places. I wish it wasn't so far north, we need one down south.

Default It is what it is

Not to sound like a food snob, but I’ve eaten Chinese food in New York and San Francisco and lots of places in between. The problem with these Chinese restaurants in these drive-in plazas is they work under a tight budget at best and it is fast food. It’s like eating a burger at four star restaurant and expecting the same quality at Mc Donald’s. The old saying is true you get what you pay for.

No. 1 China at Traverse, by Publix LOL is delicious carry-out! Bamboo Bistro is great with nice ambiance. Took us a year to find these 2 places, so we’ve eaten a lot of crappy Chinese food! Hahaha

Have been told that Ichibad (sp) in Leesburg is a good buffet option.

I went there for lunch. There were about 15 items, and all for $8.95. You get your choice of soup or egg roll. I thought it was very good, with good service, and reasonable price,
