Default La Hacianda Restaurant & Supermarket, Ocala

Three of us wanted Mexican food for lunch in Ocala and La Hacienda certainly fit the bill. Lots of good food and quite a value too. We got there about 1:15 PM and the place was packed. It is not a small place. I'd say that about 75% of the customers were of Mexican heritage. That should have been a clue as to the quality of the food. We found a table in about 5 minutes and were approached in about 2 more minutes. Our wait-person, Karina, was a total delight. The pre-meal chips and salsa seemed homemade. There was plenty of good, tasty food on my plate. I couldn't quite finish it. My steak fajitas and bottle of Dos Equis Amber came to $13.64, including tax.

Ed, who knows Mexican food, said it was great. Bill, who used to eat Mexican food 2 or 3 times a week for years (both sides of the border) when he lived in San Diego, said that it was the best he's had in Central Florida.

I wish that I had taken the time to look around their supermarket and bakery.
