Default Lopez Frequent Diner Program

I went to the Lopez Legacy restaurant for lunch the other day. There were many choices and the lunch was good. I saw the Frequent Diner ad and when I got home, I sent a note to see what it was all about. It seems that they want me to pay $20.09 ($18.95 plus tax) to join the program.

I have never seen any frequent diner program that asks me to pay to join. Usually, they give you a card and they punch the card at each visit and after so many visits you get a freebie.

Has anyone joined the Lopez Frequent Diner program and have you felt that you have gotten something worthwhile out of it?

We "joined" last year because were told we needed it for a reservation for 8. Haven't been back since.

We have the frequent dinner card, though back when we got it I don't remember paying for it. Even if we did pay, it makes sense for us because it gets you 10% off lunch and We eat there after golf enough to recoup the cost. Also have gotten various free apps and desserts. We don't go there often due to the crowds (particularly in season), yet it is still our favorite "country club" restaurant in TV.

Personally, I think Lopez Club is the very best restaurant in The Villages. I joined their Frequent Diner program 5 years ago when I moved here. I have received many times over the cost of the card in free dinners, desserts, and appetizers. We go there a couple of times a month. In season, adjust your schedule a little and enjoy a bit more time at Happy Hour.

Here's a link to the perks. I joined about 6 years ago. It's a one time fee (not annual) so it's well worth it.

I am a member and think that the initial sign-up fee is worth it. I especially appreciate the ability to make reservations for larger parties (5 and up).

Thanks for all the info. I will discuss it with my CFO and go from there.

Still would not pay for this, and because of all the above reasons.

Just so you know, we always enjoy our meals there.

We usually do not eat an appetizer as the meal is enough and the desserts are too rich for us after dinner.

Just my 2 cents.

Yup! It's a one time fee. Their perks are online.
I often wonder how they would end the program.
Suddenly no more discounts or freebies?

Interesting.

We joined about 3 years ago. Many years ago it was free and then they started charging for it. It increased by $2.50 every few years. They are going to combine it with dining at Hemingways at Havana CC. It is well worth it.

You receive 10% off lunches, accumulate points when dining, and came make reservations for 5 or more people, or for special occasions (Thanksgiving). You receive free appetizers after accumulating sufficient points. It's a good deal if you like Lopez Legacy!
