Default Glenview

They recently did a total remodel of the bar area. They have acoustic tiles in the ceiling & the new floor is also designed to have sound deadening qualities. The result is the bar is much less noisy than the dining room. We always sit in the bar.

I agree most of the country clubs are loud the two that I found are fairly less so are Evans Prairie, which tables are not sitting on top of the bar and are more separated A second choice is Arnold Palmer's the tables are not as separated as much as Evans Prairie but if you are not near the bar, you can actually hear yourself think.

Exactly.. optics.

On the way out I stopped at the front desk and complimented the manager with thumbs up for the food and service. Told him about the loud surroundings. He said “I know…”. Didn’t want to press the topic but. Then we went to see Rocky & The Rollers who were Great! And loud but that comes with the territory.

Consider the noise topic re Glenview as constructive criticism. Anyone else feel the same re Glenview???
I’ve had the same experience, and so have friends of mine. That’s why I don’t go there anymore. It’s just miserable when I can’t hear what anyone is saying. Why not hire a company to fix the problem?

Agree. Very loud at Fenny Grill too. Not sure why the designer thinks it makes an enjoyable experience. Wish they'd add some sound softening elements. Doubt we'll go back to any of those spots.

The common denominator of any of the restaurants is they're noisy! We recently ate dinner at Havana CC (inside) and it was way too noisy! We were alone but there were many who were with friends. I think no one was talking in a normal range. THEN when we left the din from the live entertainment on their patio was even worse. How can any of it be enjoyable. Noisy restaurants have been a factor in the 13 years we've lived here. I wonder if in cities we all moved here from this is also the case?!

A name on the door (Glenview) rates a Bigelow on the floor. My whole career in the church music business was spent on getting rid of sound absorbing material to encourage better singing acoustics. Since we don't sing in a restaurant I'd suggest carpet and sound absorbing panels. After all, we want to enjoy the conversation at OUR table, not the entire restaurant!

So they are restaurants identifying themselves as country clubs?

I thought the sound level quite acceptable.
Mind you, I took my hearing aids out!

I dont know why the restaurants around here think they need a band to attack customers. The last thing I want when Im going out to dinner is some karaoke band and singer making my ears bleed.

[QUOTE=retiredguy123;2177258]No, just being accurate. A country club has members, membership dues, and quiet areas where you can sit, play cards, games, or just to socialize with other members, and you don't need to order food. The Villages so-called "country clubs" are restaurants that are open to the general public, and only available to people who buy drinks or food. They are restaurants, not country clubs, and they should not pretend to be country clubs.[/

Loud restaurants are no accident- they’re planned that way:
