Default Mimis Cafe

For anyone who would like to get out of the bubble for a change of pace, hubby and I tried Mimis Cafe in Ocala next to Dillards for lunch today and it was fantastic. A variety of things on the menu and most things you get a salad or soup and soda or iced tea included in the price. I had butternut squash stuffed ravioli in a yummy cream tomato sauce with a salad which was very fresh and cut up small so I didn't have to wrestle with it, hubby had a mushroom swiss burger with sweet potato fries and the french onion soup. Both were delicious. I asked to talk to the manager to let them know how pleased we were and he came over with two huge complimentary muffins and their "to Go" menu as a show of appreciation to us for letting them know how yummy the food was. Just wanted to let everyone know about another great restaurant. The prices were reasonable also.

AGREE totally.......Mimi's in Ocala is Great......It is just like the ones in San Diego.........That BOB EVANS Corp. has found a market for a bit of more upscale dining. We have found the waitstaff at Mimi's to always be First Class. Did you sit to the left side or to the rear beyond the bar ? We like to the left for lunch and to the right beyond the bar for late afternoon or early evening.....AND ....of course Dillard's makes for a nice shopping experience. Sounds like you found our favorite.....(when in Ocala).....places to eat and shop....

Glad you liked your meal at Mimi's, we sure didn't. First, waited forever to even get someone to wait on us. Then when the order was taken, people all around us came, ordered, got their food, paid their bill and left and we had not even gotten our food yet! Suffice it to say, our meal was free and we won't be going back. Our food was cold and not very good. I guess we went at a bad time. Life is too short to be bothered going back though.

Mimi's is OK. It's a chain, like all other chains.

I am a big believer in finding "Mom and Pop' independent restaurants whenever possible however there are some contrary examples to "It's a chain, like all other chains".

Example: Bonefish Restaurants.

We plan to give Mimi's a try.
