Default Cane Garden

Our golf group went to Cane Garden last night. We have been there many times before. Since our group is large, they gave us a set menu. My husband and I have always split a meal because we don't like to eat too much late in the day. This was the first time that the waitress came to us after dinner and told us that they are charging a split fee for $4.99. She told us that we should of ordered an appetizer. We informed her that we weren't aware of this ahead of time. The manager came over and said we should of been aware of this and to take it up with the hostess (which we didn't even have seat us). We asked if this was something new at the restaurant and she said this has been done for years. This was the first time that we paid for a split meal at Cane Garden. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on this.

If it's not on the menu, I would not be happy either.

You said it was a set menu because of the size of the group. What you see is what you get. You could have taken half of your orders home for another meal.

A set menu is always per person. Sort of like, a blue sky is always blue. You shouldn't need fine print to tell you that. It's self-explanatory.

Obviously, the waitress was wrong. Basic contract law. There was no "meeting of the minds". How could the customer possibly know that there was a split fee, and that it was $4.99?

Did you split a VILLAGES' LEMONADE..... or did you each order one?
