Default Orange Blossom Hills Restaurant

Does anyone have any information regarding the renovations at the restaurant located in Orange Blossom Hills CC? Opening soon?

I called The Villages Commercial Property and spoke to property manager Carrie Ann who said the developer is "looking through different renovations" and they don't have a date on when it will reopen. When I asked what "looking through different renovations" meant, she said they are going to renovate but just don't know when nor do they have a date on when it will reopen.

Pretty sad if you ask me.

This is the exact same response they gave when the Santiago restaurant closed for repairs, then sat there deteriorating for years until it was sold to the residents for an inflated price.

Did you really think that she would tell you something that had not been publically announced? Even if there were 5 candidates to run the restaurant I doubt if you would have been told. That's the way the business world works, in particular commercial sales/leasing. When there is a deal the world will know.

If I'm not mistaken, right after the restaurant closed the article in the Daily Sun said it would be opened under new management. The press release was written in such a way, I was led to believe that the new management was already determined. I called in hopes of knowing something factual. Not rumors like the Tiki Hut is gone, or the inside has been gutted or they have installed all new kitchen equipment and other things I've heard that, quiet simply, aren't true.

Also, take into consideration the fact that the golf course WILL be closed for renovation. That will take the better part of a year.

BK...if they don't have someone to rent it, then how can we know when it will open? It may not ever open because where it is may not be where a restauranteur is looking to place himself.

I don't think that Sumter Inc. is deliberately trying to keep it closed. It is property that they have to pay taxes on and it is not bringing in income.

It appears that their business model is to build places and to lease them.

I liked Orange Blossom Restaurant but we didn't go there often because it was pretty far from where we lived in Hadley.
