I wish some of the restaurants would find a way to absorb some of the noise. It is impossible in some restaurants to have a conversation if there are more than 2 people. Need someone to go around and sell them some sound panels.

It seems to be a natural law that the one person who talks the loudest also talks the most and is always at a table adjacent to mine.

Have you shared your complaint with any restaurants?

Those people are known as drunk golfers regalling the world with a full and boring description of their best shot of the day.

Be rude back by asking them (with a smile) to lower your voices. At least it is not as bad as crying babies and screaming kids.

OP, just typical blah, blah, blah from someone wanting to throw shade at the wrong people for some inane reason. BTW, there is only one "l" in regaling.

I think the issue is just the construction. There is no sound absorption in any of these restaurants.

I notice more customers leaving at the doorway if it is too noisy, including us. Usually it is the loud music picked by the young staff.

We have eliminated the Colony Mexican Grille because of the loud noise. Too many people in a small enclosed space. LaPalma on 441 is now our go-to Mexican restaurant.

Sorry, but the noise level in most restaurants isn't "just typical blah, blah, blah." You either just don't know it, are hard of hearing or just don't care.

Most of the restaurants are constructed not to absorb sound. With high open ceilings and lots of hard surfaces, sounds just “bounce” around. Then it is a vicious cycle, it is loud in the restaurant, so everyone talks louder to be heard.

I find myself leaving more and more places because the noise level is too high. I went to Gators in Brownwood for a happy hour with 40 people crammed in the back. I could not carry on a conversation with people sitting next to me. So, I just got up and went home. If everyone did that, the loud places would shut down.
