Judging by some of the culinary posts on this board, every day is National Pizza Day, and if not from NY. it's cr4p!

New Haven style is best. New York style is an excellent alternative if you're not in New Haven. Boston style is pretty awesome too, so is New Jersey (which is actually New York style). Chicago style is terrific if you like the baked deep dish vibe, though IMO it takes a very close second to Sicilian pizza.

Florida style pizza is - cardboard with a delicate brushing of over-peppered tomato-flavored corn syrup with poorly-distributed shredded natural and artificial processed cheese food. I'm sure it's great if you're into that.

Everything else is flatbread. My position is unassailable, moderator you can now lock the thread.

So, this started out as an ad from Flipper’s Pizzaria. Anyone tried it? How is it?

Sounds fishy! (“Flipper” was the first television program I saw in color, back around Thanksgiving 1964.)

We ate at the one in Spanish Springs and thought it was a pretty good pizza.

Most people who know more about Chicago than what the bombastic media reports realize that true Chicago style pizza is thin crust, or tavern style. The deep dish is ok for a change every now and then, and it is indeed good, but it seems to be a favorite among tourists and newly arrived “Big 10 Transplants”.

Piesano is OK, but overall, pizza around here is forgettable, and that includes NYPD Bravo, Red Sauce, Giovanni, Francesco, etc. Even Great Chicago Fire Brewery in Leesburg seems to have slipped....way too much cheese. YMMV.

We were disappointed with the pizza at Chicago Fire. Being from northern Illinois I was hoping for pizzeria style thin crust. They make it in an oversized toaster oven. Meh...
