Default Rae Rae's

Had breakfast this morning at Rae Rae's Restaurant on Hwy 441 in Fruitland Park and it was wonderful. Catfish with grits, eggs and a square biscuit......delicious!!!

The eggs and corned beef hash was (were?) great, too.

We have been there twice....... First time was awesome....second time a bit busier but very willing to correct mistakes........the staff are great and very personable. They not only introduce themselves, but want to know you too and remember! Impressive.......my new favorite breakfast spot! Been looking for a great mom and pop place! Found it!

441's a busy street. Can someone pinpoint further where it is? What side of the street; a nearby landmark? Will travel for grits!

At Hwy 466 / Hwy 441 intersection go south for about 2 miles and Rae Rae's will be on the right side of the road. Address is 2468 Hwy 441.

If you're heading out on 466a from Colony Plaza instead of from 466, you can take a left onto Micro Racetrack Rd South just past Burke's BBQ and go to the end of that road. Next take a right onto Lake Ella Road East and follow it all the way to Rt. 441 . Take a right on 441 South and Rae Rae's is exactly 1.1 miles or about a minute on your right. Using this route instead of going straight to 441, you'll avoid having to make a U-turn on 441 as you can't make a left hand turn into Rae Rae's off of 441 Northbound.

Default Great breakfast

We went there today for breakfast after reading all the good reviews on TOTV and we were very pleased with the visit. We were there around 10:30 and it had emptied out from the early breakfast folks. We both had delicious meals. Sue's omelet was perfect and you could see the talent used to cook it into a tender omelet versus the cooking temp being too high and drying out the egg mixture. Hash browns were great and you don't want to miss the grilled biscuit.

We went last sunday for breakfast after reading TOTV reviews. Sadly we were underwhelmed. The place was bright and clean and the staff friendly and the food wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special. We both had egss and biscuits with sausage and gravy and while the square biscuits were very good, the sausage had an odd flavor. Again not bad but just an odd spice in them that made them taste less like breakfast sausage and more like a knockwurst. The owner stopped by our table and personally apologized for not having any orange juice that morning which was a nice touch. All and all, it is someplace we would stop in if we were in the area and wanted to grab a bite to eat, but probably won't make a special trip down there again.

It's okay, been there 3 times and it's nothing special. Very slow service the times I have been there, orders have gotten mixed up. One of the people I was with ordered the corned beef hash and it was a frozen patty that is just heated up on the grill. Owner is very friendly and I really wanted to like the place. Understand they are going thru some new opening pains but by now they should have worked it out. Probably won't go back, I'll make the trip up to Billy's as that to me is the best breakfast place-- great food and great service.

Wow! I have to commend you for giving, at least in my opinion, one of the most respectful expression of constructive criticism I've ever read on this or any forum I've ever read. I may not agree with you about the sausage, but I do appreciate the way you've expressed yourself! Kudos!
