Default red sauce was fantastic!

The 4 of us ate at Red Suce last night and it was awesome...You will not like it IF you like "Chain Food" ( carrabas,etc.)..It is authentic and original...We had 4 different dishes and all 4 were fabulous! I cant believe the bad posts about it, glad we tried it even though the reviews were bad...

wlou,
I agree we went to Red Sauce and it was great! This is one restaurant that is on our list to return to often. I can't imagine anyone not liking it, but like you said...it's not a chain....I felt like I was home in Mom's kitchen.

Some may think the name inappropriate. I think KathieI wants it called Red Gravy.

If your not real hungry for a big meal, get their eggplant rolotini on the appetizer menu. It was delicious !!!! We also love the outside bar. Great bartenders out there !!

Bonnie:

You are right their eggplant rollatini is very good. My wife had that and a salad as her dinner earlier this week. I had their eggplant Parm and that too was very good.

Exxxcuuuusseeeee me, , but according to my Jewish dictionary:

Oy Veh :
pronounced, oy-VAY

A combination of oy gevalt and veh is mir. An expression of exasperation, i.e., "What now?!" or "Oh, no!"

You can apologize later, Nonie, when you are in TV....

And the best name for that restaurant is RED GRAVY.

Default red sauce restaurant

i am new to this site and am interested in doing a restaurant review blog. i owned several restaurants in ny and know the business and good food. i dined at red sauce on two occassions and was dissatisfied both times. the first time i ordered the fish special and the fish was bad. by bad i mean it should have never left the kitchen with the smell of bad fish. i was told by the owner it was the olives ??????????? the second visit resulted in us waiting 45 minutes to get our entries after a terrible appetizer of fried calamarie. we were three adults and the chicken dish was dried out { over cooked ] and a fish dish which was lacking all of the listed ingredients [ tasteless]. my dish a grilled pork chop was ok..... we then told the waitress that we wanted to order dessert, she gave us menues and did not return for 18 minutes. she laughed and said it was busy.... iasked for the check and left. after the two experiences i can tell you that the staff is poorly trained and the control of food coming out of the kitchen is sub par

when you go to a restaurant you should expect a good dining experience each time bar none. you must let the management know when something is wrong so they can correct it. if they refuse to admit a bad piece of fish came out of their kitchen they will eventually pay the ultimate price. i will continue to give my professional expertise in the future for anyone who is interested....... thank you paul

Smile

Ate there last week and have to give it an EH, not bad but not really good.
Service was fine but the food was medioce.
Veal cutlet was more of a patty and eggplant parm was dry and sauce not impressive.
Only been out of New York for about 6 weeks and still trying to adapt.
So far no Italian, no Chinese, no bagels and no bread.
Paulies Pizza is not bad and Oakwood BBQ is to die for.

Have eaten there once and tried the spaghetti which was absolutely perfect for us, back again tonight for more choices. I recommend this wonderful restaurant, which is not a chain, to all my friends.
