Default Toasted Yolk

Patronized the new breakfast eatery in Lake Deaton Plaza this morning - The Toasted Yolk.

I think I’ve finally found a proper eggs Benedict here in “the bubble”. Other breakfast places here have disappointed me with my favorite breakfast meal. Some use ham in place of Canadian bacon. One popular place doesn’t properly toast their English muffins, so the hollandaise and egg yolks turn the English muffin in a wet sponge.

Service was attentive and personable. Waitress checked in with me multiple times and kept my coffee cup filled. The ambiance is bright and cheery, a great place to start your morning.

Highly recommend- this may be my new favorite breakfast spot. Will return for sure, and want to try their lunch items.

What sides are offered? Do they serve corned beef hash?

Not sure about hash, they serve an awesome hash brown casserole as a side - far superior to the one at Cracker Barrel. And the coffee is great as well!

Check out their menu online: they're part of a chain of some 30 restaurants, mainly in the south (one in Ohio) so the menus may vary a bit. But from what I saw online, they offer a LOT of choices, and to their credit there is ham, bacon and sausage aplenty. Might have to try them.

We were semi-regulars at The Flying Biscuit; however their insistence on All Things Chicken even in the breakfast menu (they do offer actual pork bacon but I believe it was uncured) as well as their recent health dept. review results, has us shying away from them at least for the present. They did have great biscuits though.

We’ve eaten twice at toasted yolk first time was unremarkable. Second time was better, but they’ve only been open for a few weeks. Michael Have you tried reveille in Magnolia Plaza for eggs Benedict? Not too much lemon and have never had a break in hollandaise.
We go weekly, it is the only place that I have found the egg to be perfectly cooked every time. I asked if they sous vide their eggs, perfectly cooked even with 4 orders at our table.

The egg guy came out, thanked me for such a wonderful compliment and that I knew what a sous vide was. He does all of his poached eggs as ordered. I am very impressed.

Wife went there for the first time last week with her Mah Jong friends. Portions were very large and her breakfast was fine. Service also very good.

Is on the expensive side

We recently enjoyed breakfast at the Toasted Yolk. Everything from atmosphere, service, and food quality was very good. We'll definitely go back. I'm hoping over time they maintain their food and service standards.

After 7 am as long as the business is licensed to sell alcohol for consumption on the premises, and it must be a restaurant or bar whose sales are at least 51% food. If it’s take-away, it has to be part of a food order.

Not sarcasm, it is the law. Florida law prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages for on-premise consumption between 12 midnight and 7am, except in those counties that allow exceptions. The Toasted Yolk is located in Sumter County which does not allow exceptions to the state law. Although, the restaurant does need to have a state alcohol license. The only other exception is that, on January 1, alcohol can be served from midnight to 2am.

My stomach has told me years ago not to have alcohol before noon. It told me in ways that I will not go against its wishes
