A buddy and I had an excellent lunch at a new place the other day. We found the Candelaria Eatery & Cafe. It's billed as a Colombian-American fusion restaurant. It's family owned and operated by really nice people. Their hamburgers are freshly ground. Everything is cooked to order. I had the Crunchy Mix (crispy pork belly crackling (chicharron) with Colombian chorizo and crunchy green plantain, served with some guacamole and criollo sauce) and a beer. Jack had a Tropical Bowl (a combination of homemade white rice & red beans, tender stewed shredded beef, sweet plantains, crisp lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream), a mango smoothie and a piece of dulce de leche-chocolate cake. Great stuff. I saw a Cobb Salad that looked great.
Order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Take-out and delivery also. Gluten-free and vegetarian available. Fresh food and juices. Kid's menu. Candelaria Eatery & Cafe 4059 Thomas St (Unit A01) Oxford, FL 34484 (352) 399-2329 It's in the Preston Place strip mall (set back from the road), east side (northbound) of Hwy 301, just south of CR 466. Facebook page... click here. Online ordering... click here. |

Great food. Be sure to try the burgers. As noted above, they grind their own beef. The seasonings are great. We especially like the Patacon burger. It’s gluten free, keto and delicious.
