For those of us from Chicago, or somewhere in the greater midwest - and anyone who craves GREAT Italian roast beef, sausage, Chicago hot dogs etc - someone has contacted PORTILLIO'S (a large modern restaurant chain headquartered in IL). I ran into his posting on 'the other news' website. If you would like to have them -hopefully- come to TV, sign the petition he mentions below - who knows? They are expanding into FL - built in Tampa and Brandon so far = let's be next! It may work and we would have another fresh choice...>


I have talked with management of Portillo’s in Brandon and they suggested if we wanted a Portillo’s in The Villages, that we start a petition to send to Corporate Offices in Oak Brook Illinois. Waste of time you may think, not so fast my friend……..Gurnee, Illinois had one brought there all from the town getting a petition together. I have a petition started, and I would love for you to go online and check it out. Please spread the word to friends and family, together, we can make this happen. Thank You all for your support.

I think Culver's came because the owner bought the franchise, not because of a petition. Most people that start business's (or Corporations) do so because a market study and business plan say they should. Unless those signing petitions or making phone calls are willing to guarantee revenue, a business would be irresponsible to go someplace based on a non-revenue generating petition. One thing a petition might do is make them aware of a market they haven't investigated but if the numbers don't work, neither will the business.

If it comes, it would make sense business wise to be on the outskirts with close proximity to TV, such as Trailwinds, as a business owner--I would have never wanted any land lord to be a partner and being able to get a % of my sales
