Thumbs up Ruby Tuesday's

Oh, my gosh, I can't believe I've lived in The Villages for over a year and just last night discovered how great Ruby Tuesday's is.

The one in Louisville, where I moved from, had been only so-so, and therefore I hadn't gone to the one here.

We went with friends for dinner there before going to a party last night, and it was superb! Loved the salad bar - a real find that I had missed living here -the bar, food and ambience was excellent; also, the place was packed and yet our wait for a table and for our food was very reasonable given it was New Year's Eve.

Plus, our waiter, Justin, was wonderful and amusing. (Of course, I have a wonderful son whose name is Justin, so that got him points, also).

Try the Crabcakes next time Freeda, they are the best we found in all of TV, and we tried about 12 places.

I too love Ruby Tuesdays but I do have a complaint. On Christmas Eve we stopped by at 8:30 for a drink with friends. The resturant was going to close at 9:00 pm. We told the hostess we just wanted a drink so we went to a booth at the bar. We sat for 10 mins at a dirty table and couldn't get anyone to wait on us. After 15 mins the hostess came by and said sorry, and then walked off. I went to the bar and asked the bartender for a couple of beers. She said the waiter who had the booth we were in was doing his nightly cleanup and we should move into the main room in the resturant. I asked her why she wouldn't just give me the beers and she told me it wasn't her table. We told her that we'd find somewhere that wanted our money.

Texas..
The sad part about this situation is the owner was probably out with friends..The waitresses and waiters could care less about the negativity they project, they do not own the business..I have seen places that have absentee owners, that go down in flames for just that reason..
The help could care less about accommodating the patrons..They are interested in going home, once the clock strikes 9..
Unfortunately there are many places closing for the above reasons..Some of the kids they hire have no skills and even less manners when it comes to dealing with the public..I always give the place another chance..maybe it was an off night!

I would never go into a business 30 minutes from closing and expect to be welcomed with open arms - especially on Christmas Eve or any other holiday. They do have lives, too......

Oh come on, how hard is it to had a customer three beers? I might add the resturant was full of diners so the thought that the staff was going to get to leave early doesn't fly.
