Does anyone know if JJ Fins Dockside is still open. If it is, is the food still good?
Thanks

The phone number on the www.urbanspoon.com website for JJ Fins has been disconnected. I also seem to remember that the location is still a restaurant but with different owners and a new name.
After further checking, the JJ Fins at Tavares is now Hurricane Dockside under new ownership. JJ Fins is now at New Smyrna Beach at what used to be the Pub 44.

Indy - thanks for the help. When I tried the old number is wasn't a working number so this helps. Now if I can find someone who has been there lately for a "review" I'll be in good shape.
Happy New Year

One of my favorite off-reservation restaurants is Vic's Embers in Tavares. Don't plan on getting nickel hot dogs but I think the food, service and entertainment are excellent.

We have not been to the new version of JJ Finn's yet but can offer somewhat on an observation that might help. This past Friday evening we went to the Goblin Market in Mount Dora with some friends for dinner. During our return trip to TV, around 7:30, we were shocked driving by JJ Finn's as the parking lot there was only about half full. I can recall other times driving by and that lot was full. Did not seem normal for a Friday night at that restaurant.

I don't know if it's still open but when I was there last year with a party of six we couldn't get seated even though there were vacant tables all over the place.
Went back another time with different people and I thought the food was incredibly bad.

Thanks for the great responses everyone. I decided to make the reservation at Vic's Embers. I've been there before and really liked it. I'll have a pretty eclectic group so the menu will fit the crowd. Once again, thank you.
