If you are looking for steakhouse quailty, you be driving. Bern's in Tampa is probably the best in the state however you'll need reservations and getting one is not always easy. Go to Orlando and you can do what I call "meat salad" aka Fogo de Chou or there are several steakhouses between Disney and I Drive Ocala was already mentioned by another poster.

As for here.... LMAO well Chop house isn't all that much better than Outback, roadhouse, etc. They just dress it up to look nice otherwise it's the same as the rest. So I'm at a loss on that one I have yet to find anything better locally.

As a side note my qualifications are - 1) Quality of the Old Fashioned (includes Bourbon Selection) 2) Meat selection 3) Meat quality grade (most local serve select or choice even though they claim it's prime) 4) experience (service)

On my trip to Mark's I ordered an Old Fashioned to start. The waiter, I think he had been there nearly 20 years, asked if I would like them to choose the liquor, or did I want to. I rolled the dice and he delivered a delicious one .. The bartender used Whistle Pig.. At Flemings I don;t remember, but I think it was Makers 46.. also good. Everyone makes theirs a little different. At home, I don't use sugar, but a product called Bittermilk, and add a few more orange bitters and a Luxardo cherry.

I'm listening...

Table of 4 at Prima Monday. Steak was the perfect char on the outside, rare as requested on the inside. Flavor was that of a wood fire sear, and was extremely tender. 2 others were just as perfect. 4th cooked perfectly, great flavor, but not tender. New plate arrived within minutes, and was very tender, and rare. Sometimes a piece of beef looks great, but until you take a bite, you never know.

The prime aged Delmonico was excellent Friday evening at Chop House. Ordered a notch below medium rare with bordelaise sauce, loaded baked potato and brussel sprouts with bacon. MY husband I split the steak and it was $54. Melissa was our excellent server. Two managers walking the floor to make sure everyone was satisfied. They were very busy but they had plenty of help.
