Default Brook's Dockside (Inglis) and Pepe's (Ocala)

During my pre-move visit last week, I dragged my parents around chasing restaurants and sources of seafood/meats for when I become a resident, next year.

These are not in The Bubble, but we all thought they were worth mentioning.

Brook's Dockside in Inglis - They run a ten-boat long line fleet licensed to catch Gulf grouper and red snapper. They sell a small fraction of their catch at their storefront. Really nice fish and lots of other seafood choices in the freezer case (I was chasing a sample of smoked mullet and was not disappointed.) But, the gem was the food truck. The blackened grouper sandwich was the best my father has ever tasted. It's a hike and an adventure for a day with nothing else going on.

Pepe's Mexican Restaurant and Market - West of Ocala on Hwy 40 - Very nice Mexican food and an extensive market. The guacamole was fantastic.

Also try La Hacienda Restaurant and Supermarket. It's about 3 1/2 miles east of Pepe's on FL-40.

Thanks for the tips. There is a Gourmet Club here in TV. It has an extensive and useful website with many reviews of restaurants inside and outside of TV. Search under; Gourmet Club of the Villages. And Welcome!
