Default Oakwood or Texas Stockyards?

I was driving from Tavares back to The Villages about 8 this evening. There was a full parking lot and people waiting outside at the Oakwood Grill. A few blocks further on toward The Villages on 441/27, the parking lot at Texas Stockyards had around 8 or 10 cars in it and no line.

Even Mom & Pop's Italian Restaurant had more cars than the Texas Stockyards - and I know that is not great food!

Kind of amazing in the difference between Oakwood and Texas Stockyard. Personally, the baby back ribs at Oakwood are the best in the area and a close to the best I have eaten.

When Texas Stockyards first opened there were many good reviews on here. I don't know what happened as I never went there. I'm spoiled by Oakwood Grill. The manager told me they get the ribs from Sweden or someplace near there.

Texas Stockyards does not have baby back ribs and Oakwood does. A lot of people prefer baby backs.

Stockyards and Burke's---no baby backs. What's wrong with these people? Oakwood reasonable and very good.

Coming from a city once known as Hog Butcher for the World (thanks Carl Sandburg) ribs need to be wet and from a pig.

Went to Texas Stockyard for the first time last week and was very disappointed. Didn't care for the sweet rib sauce, fries were soggy, and chicken was cooked to mush consistency. Oakwood rules!!!!!

Don't care for Oakwood - no brisket. And I don't think it's worth the wait. I do like their smoked turkey.

We still like Stockyards! Their ribs come either dry or wet and even though not baby backs they are falling off the bone. That being said my favorite there is just to get a baked potato with choice of meat stuffing and I usually choose smoked chicken. It's a big potato with all the trimmings. With meat it is $7.95 and plenty to eat. We like Oakwood also but it is very difficult to get into in the winter. Not a fan of Burkes!
