Default Turkish Food

I came across this place quite by accident and have wanted to try it. The name is Jade Dragon, thats because it used to be a Chinese place but was sold to 2 guys from Turkey as I understand the story. Well they still serve Chinese food as it takes up 1/2 the menu. If you like Mediteranian food you will love this place. We had lamb, hers was a shis kebob nad mine were in patties. WE also had an appetizer of "Istanbul bread" and hummus. The bread was HUGE pita bread that covered the entire plate. It was fresh and very hot. The meal came with rice, a small lettuce and tomato salad with oil dressing and a roasted pepper medley that was fantastic.

I've been to Turkey a number of times and this was as good as anything I've eaten in some very good restuarants in Istanbul and Ankara. Its located behind Best Buy in Ocala at 2711 SW 27th Ave.

Thanks for the info. I love "different" restaurants and food. Can't wait to try.

Because of the number of Chinese restaurants locally I never would have considered The Jade Dragon. Now you have piqued my interest. Haven't had good Med food in years. We'll give it a try one day soon.
