Impossible to get a corned beef or pastrami on rye that is anything like NY (IE Katz)

No argument there…but have you seen the price of a sandwich at Katz…$25!

My Mom used to cook liver & onions for my Dad.
Thankfully she never made us eat it.
I do really like chopped liver! :icon_wink:

Some people hate it, others love it. If cooked right it is great.

Actually, corned beef is $26.45, and pastrami is $27.45.

When you know what good pastrami and corned beef tastes like hard to settle for fourth rated deli meat.

Sounds like a blessing to me.

I mentioned to the waitress that it was my favorite meal there and she said, "Yes, they were very popular".

Dropping popular items is usually a great way to run a restaurant. Into the buffers!

I do like Bison Burgers but waitress comment was probably anecdotal and/or they cut into sales of regular hamburgers which are very close in taste.

Agree…but im sure you might remember years ago there was always a great jewish deli close by everywhere in nyc. Nothing will compare to those places…sadly, they are all gone.

TooJays in Brownwood has gotten really dirty over the last few months. I know they have had some serious staffing issues, but if they can’t even clean the dining room floor I don’t want to think how bad it is in the kitchen areas.

Not listed on their online menu.

Did you check the specials menu? We were at the Brownwood restaurant on Thursday and Liver & onions is a Thursday dinner special.

I do remember they were in every neighborhood in NY but sadly those days are long gone.

There will be plenty of chatter on here...LOL...those who hate it, those who love it, under the new owners/management. It will settle nothing except as a "let off steam" value for some people. But the one fact is, IF enough people love it, it will stay open, and if enough people join the "hate posters", then it will eventually close ! Basic economics even kids with a lemonade stand can understand..LOL !
