Default Turner's in Leesburg, Oh My

My husband and I just went to Turner's in Leesburg and had a wonderful meal. We split an appetizer of fried green tomato caprese. I had shrimp & grits (different from the usual--had apples and bacon jam on it) and my husband had a (huge) pork chop with spinach and roasted Brussels sprouts and bacon.

I was very happy with the atmosphere. It was very quiet and comfortable. A great place to go with a couple of friends or for a couple. (This was my birthday dinner.) They limit groups of diners to 6, and that helps keep the noise down. The service and food were excellent.

In a former thread I had bemoaned the pretzel roll issue--they only give you two, and if you want more it's a $6 extra menu item. But frankly, the pretzel rolls were the only mediocre part of the meal, and we wouldn't have wanted more.

The dinners were excellent. They also have a free app for your phone called No Wait. You open the app, and it tells you how long the wait is and asks if you want to get in line. Tonight at 5, when we left the house, the app said "Come On In," meaning there was no wait. And there wasn't.

We shared a $40 bottle of wine (okay, okay, it was my birthday!), and the bill came to $108. If you are looking for a very cheap meal, you won't find it here, but the food is worth the price, in our opinion.

We love Turners-have been there at least 3 times with two other couples and not one person was unhappy with the meals. Filets are great and lobster night was some of the best tasting lobster found around here. Try there pimento cheese dressing - it is wonderful.

Happy (belated) Birthday!!
No offense to anyone's dietary preferences, but green tomato, grits and brussels sprouts???? Seriously???? Anyone know what the REAL food at this restaurant is like? Alternatively, where IS VPL anyway? Missed the resolution of that long running thread.

Thank you and thank you!

Ha ha--Grits and shrimp were mine; pork chop (rated excellent) for my husband) with sauteed spinach and the sprouts. What can I say... we love Brussels sprouts. There are plenty of other sides, though.

There is a lot more on their menu than what is listed online. Lots of meat choices.

Thank you, I'm sure it was as good as you said. Sprouts and grits not my cup of tea, but I think I'll give the place a try next month

They just sent an email saying they are taking reservations for Thanksgiving dinner. They will start taking rez on 10/20, I believe. They haven't decided on the menu yet.

We have plans for TG, but if anyone wants the information as to when you can call, etc., let me know and I'll post it.
