Default Havana Country Club pleasant surprise

It's been a while since we've been there, but good review on TOTV and a rainy night brought us there. We were a party of 5, had a very enjoyable meal. The menu is new and apparently the kitchen staff is new. Two had the dinner for two $19.95 special. One child had a very good pizza. And two had dinners off the menu. Service very very good and food was excellent.

Tab with tip for 5 was $60.

We have decided to put Havana back in the rotation

Have they invested in new menu's? The old ones were dirty and falling apart.

Sign up for Havana's emails. I got a coupon from them that says after 4pm if it's raining when you hit their front door you get a free draft beer or wine.

Nice to see you and the family tonight. Too bad it was raining and we couldn't chat a bit. But next time, stay for the music, it was fun tonight. Hope to see ya soon..

Lucky you! We got to Havana around 7 PM after you. We were given seats at a booth and menus. No one bothered to tell us about the special 2 for $19.95.
Wife ordered Ropa Vieja which turned out to be as tough as manila rope.
I ordered the Citrus Atlantic Salmon. The dinner salad came out 20 minutes after the server took my salmon order. I was just about finished eating the salad when the server appeared at our table to tell me that they were out of salmon and I could order something else. A half hour had already elapsed but I soldiered on and ordered the broiled haddock keeping my fingers crossed. I already had chosen a baked potato and chef's veggies as sides. After another 15 ninutes the broiled haddock appeared on the table. The veggie side dish was a soggy disaster. The only success story was the baked potato.
The service was below par. Our server somehow forgot that he was our server and we did not see him for most of the nite. Our drink refills were taken care of by I guess by whomever was available. We finished eating and waited for our server who didn't seem to be around. Meanwhile we spied some friends at another table behind us so we got up and went over to say hello. In the few minutes we were gone, someone bused the table but there was no check. So now we sat at an empty table waiting to catch our sewrver for the check. We probably just could have walked out at that point and no one would have been the wiser. Our server finally did show up and appologized and blamed the kitchen for not telling him there was no more salmon, blah, blah, blah.
Needless to say, Havana remains on our crap list.

We tried again a week or so back and it is so frustrating as Havana is 5 minutes away by golf cart, but we had another bad meal.

4 of us went for dinner and drinks last night (Tuesday) and all our meals were great. Waitress (Melissa?) was wonderful and a lot of fun. It's too bad the service and food seems so erratic according to posts but I guess we lucked out. Also got 15% off using coupon from email.

DW (Darling Wife) and I went last evening thinking a snack and a drink. We saw the special fixed menu and thought we'd give it a go. We both had a petite fillet and they were very good. The service was OK, not bad and not wonderful. For the price, it was something we WILL do again.

still have a bad feeling going to Havana from the first time we went and that was only for a couple of drinks and the bartender was a real B. The people next to us was almost afraid to ask for another round. THis is how they asked my we please have another round and almost flinched when she said yeah ok.
