Default Restaurants Villages, etc.

[QUOTE=charmed59;1243802]We are new to the Villages and love eating out. So far our favorites are the Lighthouse Point Bar and Grill and Palmer Legends.

At the Lighthouse we sat outside with an incredible view and had the Seafood grill with shrimp, scallop and haddock with lots of onion strings. All were cooked to perfection.

At Palmer Legends we had the petite filet with scallop and shrimp and the special twin lobster tails. All were cooked perfectly.

From bbbbbb
We like Arnold Palmer, the big salads are great, the salmon is very good. We like the Thai Restaurant on Canal st. We like Sonny's. We get the ribs for two dinner to go, two baked potatoes, later, we slice them and brown them for breakfast. We like the dry rub ribs. We like Perkins for breakfast, the senior menu on the back, specials are really great. Ruby Tuesday in Spanish Springs is awesome, the pork chops and salad bar are fabulous.

PS. Barefoot has to supply the lobster

Bonefish has great bang-bang shrimp. Maybe you can pretend it's lobster.

Default Toojays

Many have said that Toojays has lost it. Can anyone be a little more specific? I used to enjoy the one in Sumter Landing😩

The best Italian food in the Villages is a small one in a strip mall on 466. Minimal atmosphere, GREAT food.
Giovannis on west 466 is owned by genuine Italians who travel back to Italy every year for new ideas.

And for an adventure outside the villages (15 miles or less) try Gator Joes - sit outside on a deck over Lake Wier - for beer and burgers and deep fried alligator - about 50 years old. Lots of non-villager locals.

If you ate on Arthur Ave how could you call Ricciardi's Italian--If you have eaten in Katz's, how can you call Toojays a Deli? If you have eaten in Peter Lugers, how can you call Texas steak house --a steak house?????

Those are two of our favorites also. The restaurant at Orange Blossom Gardens Country Club is also one of our favorites. Not crowded, informal. Similar atmosphere to The Lighthouse

In essence have to agree with Chatbrat but not in attitude. TooJays is Ok but not as good as Ben's on LI or any Jewish Deli in NY.
