Golden Coral. Can't beat the price or food.

I agree - I'm not a frequent buffet-goer, but for buffets Golden Corral has my vote, also. I know that this is more information than you asked for; but can't resist adding my additional 2 cents, so here goes; it might help someone. We can eat very healthily at Golden Corral; the choice is up to us. As with any buffet, the challenge is always to resist the urge to overeat (even if we are sticking to healthy foods) in order to 'get our money's worth'! But Golden Corral has a good selection - better than most buffets I have seen (and, additionally, there aren't many buffets around TV) - of quality salad, fruit, and vegetable selections, as well as lean meats and other protein foods; so eating there is a great chance to have small portions of lots of different healthy foods. If, just as with any meal at any restaurant (or at home), we steer clear - totally - of the breads, starches, desserts and other sugar-containing or high-glycemic foods that sharply spike our blood sugar (and which, therefore, cause us to get hungry again in an hour or two), we have a lots of healthy choices with Golden Corral.

Remember to ask for the senior discount; plus for seniors the meal price includes a drink -that means, ideally, water, unsweetened tea, etc; not a soft drink! (-;

I think it changes from lunch price of around $7 to dinner price of around $10 at 4PM but I'm not completely sure about the time.

I also like Beijing Garden for the same reasons; plus they have snow crab legs there.

Buffets are a great opportunity to practice self-restraint; and you will feel so good about yourself afterward! Just as when going to the grocery, drinking lots of water, and/or eating something light like a small apple, a while before going helps, so you aren't feeling like you are starving when you arrive.

Freeda, I like the way you think! Are you a nutritionist?

I don't frequent buffets often mainly for the reasons you stated: poor quality food and temptations to want to eat my money's worth! Unfortunately, I think most people overeat when paying for "all you can eat" which is not good for their health.

While it is a little drive, the La Hacienda at Mission Inn in Howey in the Hills has very good breakfast and lunch buffets. Their Sunday Champagne buffet is the best in the area - much better than Harbor Hills IMHO.
