Default Who would like a Carvel Ice Cream Shop?

A shop that serves Ice Cream and custom ice cream cakes? Not yogurt, but ice cream?

I worked for Tom Carval in upstate New York in the 60's.My father and Tom had a dream much like the villages in the Catskills.Golf course, manufactured housing and all.I helped my father set many manufactured homes there.I met Tom many times.Very nice man with lots of dreams (and ice cream)Thank all those innovators to see what this, The Villages has become.Lots of someone telling them that you can't when you know you can. Finding monies and being stopped at everything you tried to do but to still persevere,Takes something special.

No comparison to Carvel ice cream made in house and not shipped in from a food distributor.

Its like wine, the $5.99 bottle is fine and does the job, but... well you all know what I'm saying.

Carvel would be great, so would Friendly's.

How about a real non-chain bakery that makes 7 layer cake? Sacher torte?

Maybe if Gary Morse gave them about 70 million to get out of bankruptcy they would open a Friendly's here.

OMG I lived right by Oberweis YES!!!!!

I thought a number of years back there was a Carvel out here near Target, and it closed.

I was very sad to see Brewsters close, they made their own and it was awesome!

How 'bout an Isaly's? Those cones with the conehead-shaped ice cream, yum. They had specially shaped scoops to dig out the ice cream. Mint chocolate chip was my favorite. Also the home of Klondike Bars.

You are correct.
Carvel was out front of Target closer to US 441/27.
I think it was about 2009 when it was there.

The collapse of the US Economy in Fall of 2008 dealt a death knoll to a lot of places.
Some held on for a while, others dropped out slowly.

Jersey Mike's just came back to that plaza.
JM's is in the same plaza where the Carvel's Ice Cream was located.

Thanks for verifying that! My husband later informed me it was where Jersey Mikes is.

I would.

I just hope my Aunt Phil and Uncle Howie don't read this. They owned 2 Dairy Queens in NJ and every winter when they closed gave us a freezer full of Dilly Bars, Sandwiches, yellow with butterfat tubs of vanilla ice cream, whip cream, wet nuts [my mother's favorite] and strawberries [my favorite].
