Default Eaton's Beach Sandbar and Grill

Went to a new place to eat tonight and it was fantastic. Eaton's Beach Sandbar and Grill on Lake Weir. We will definitely be going back. The place is beautiful. The location is perfect. The food was superb. The service was out of this world. The employees weren't just standing around. They were actually going around to tables helping each other and waiting on the customers.

We started with appetizers of fried green tomatoes, wings and peel n eat shrimp. The wing lovers said they were right on the money. The shrimp and tomatoes were perfectly seasoned and prepared.

I had bronzed seasoned and pan seared chicken breasts, with red beans and Balaya rice. My husband had mac and cheese that I will order next time we go. I can honestly say it was the best mac and cheese I've ever tasted. It is cavatappi noodles in a home-made 3 cheese sauce with Andouille sausage, smoked ham, diced tomato and seasoned Tasso. My brother-in-law had the washday special Red beans and ham hocks slow simmered until thick and creamy with grilled Louisiana Andouille sausage over Balaya rice.
My sis-in-law had Spanish catfish that she said was delicious.

I won't even talk about the desserts. Maybe if I don't say anything about them, the calories won't count. We love finding good places to eat and after tonight, we are all thrilled.

So agree! We ate there Friday evening. My husband had Sweet Cajun Chicken and I had Spanish Catfish. Both meals were delicious. We are always looking for new places and we will certainly return to Eaton's Beach. There are so many items on the menu I would love to try. In addition the ramp they built going out to the water is beautiful.

Sure, another newbie with just 4,000 posts plugging a restaurant! But seriously, thanks for the info. I can't wait to try it! It sounds like a fusion between Florida and Louisiana styles.

There is another thread on this restaurant with mixed reviews, but we enjoyed our experience there on December 7.

Eatons beach on Lake Wier

Nothing new. Most places get bashed on TOTV. Gotta go for yourself, as you did.

BTW new ice cream place was reported to have small portions........well do tell!

Thank you Bare. I didn't see the previous thread. Really though, when you read the thread and the reviews, the comments regarding the restaurant are also very good. I love it over on Lake Weir. It is so beautiful all along the lake and that entire area for that matter. It is very peaceful. Merry Christmas everyone and Chag Urim Sameach!. Bon appetit.

You're right Bogie. I do rely on TOTV for contractor recommendations. But restaurant reviews are like movie reviews, you just have to find out for yourself.
