Yeah, that’s was what it was designed to do. Also to only allow payment of cents on the dollar to creditors while corporate “officers’” salaries were left intact.

So everyone who orders a beer is a drunk? What is your definition of a drunk?

Alcohol is not healthy and causes cancer which should be a greater concern than being inebriated. Yes some people drink to get a buzz but most people drink it responsibly. Beer is refreshing and has a unique way of satisfying the palate.

I actually enjoy certain non alcoholic beers. So much so that I have several brands in my fridge. My favorite is Coors Edge and IPAs by Sam Adams and Athletic Brewing Company.

That’s funny! I find Villages food to be rather bland and tasteless. That’s because people with your tastes often send food back because it is too spicy and the restaurants can’t afford that.

So ALL the bars in TV should be closed?

I did my lifestyle visit just before WoB opened eleven years ago. One big negative for my visit was that I could not find a decent ale ANYWHERE. No one carried IPAs—even grocery stores. All I could find was tasteless swill that is made for people who don’t like variety or even the taste of beer. I guess most people drink watery pilsners just to get drunk. Me? I like the adventure of trying new things.

When I was complaining to the waiter at City Fire, they told me that WoB was coming soon, so I decided I would be able to live in Florida. That has all changed now and most restaurants now carry an ale. The selection still sucks at most restaurants, but at least we have places like WoB and Sunny Pint to find a wide variety of beers with flavor. I can now find a couple dozen ales at Publix, plus ABC and Total Wine have an awesome selection.

If you think there is too much drinking in TV, then it would be better to close places like City Fire, Cody’s, and the various Gators where people go just to get drunk and smoke than places like WoB where people go because they want to experience the variety.

BTW, I’ve tried 645 different beers at WoB. I would hate to see it closed.

Only went there once to see what was available. Didn't have any of the brands I had hoped to find. I settled for a Bud then went home and never went back.

They have a rotating stock. At any given time they have about 500 different beers. If you install their app, you can search their stock. I’ve had 645 different beers there during the decade I’ve been here. If you can’t find something you like, then you must have very narrow tastes.

YES!! This is exactly what I've experienced. I accept it, a restaurant needs to satisfy as many people as possible to survive so they have to aim for the lowest common denominator. But, I definitely notice a lack of spice/flavor/heat in a lot of foods in the area.

The FMK country club doesn't season their vegetable side dishes AT ALL. Not even salt and pepper. No idea how they're cooked, I think they just heat them up in the oven or keep them in a steam pot on the stove. I asked about why they didn't season them, the waitress said people wanted to salt/pepper their own.

So I ALWAYS get the mixed veggies, put them in a take-out container, and bring them home for lunch the next day. I add cajun or mexican seasoning and nuke-em hot, or I'll stir-fry them with olive oil, minced garlic, and soy sauce.

Wow I don’t drink, but I let people do what they do. Time for you to move

It’s revenue that counts. Not butts that fill seats. It’s how much those seats are generating in revenue every day.

For a place with beer in the name, we were disappointed with the selection. More domestic than worldwide choices, and we love IPA, so underwhelming.

Can we just say the truth? The majority of restaurants here are not good. There’s only about 15 places in TV that are really good. When the Suleiman restaurants are some of the best options (which they are), pickings are slim… Back home, the Suleiman restaurants would be afterthoughts. Then again, it’s not perfect here, but as close to perfection as I’m going to get for retirement.

WOB management here in The Villages is horrible. I first visited the one in SS in January and knew it was destined to close. My wife and I went there and half of the taps were empty. We went there again in February when we moved here and several times after that and it was always the same story. Half of the taps were always empty. We've been to BW a couple of times now and it's starting down that path. Our home is up north so going to BW to visit WOB to find empty taps is not worth it. They will also soon close.

I hope it survives. WoB has the best (only?) rotating selection of craft beer available by golf cart.

I happily admit I cart to Sunny Pint. I just stay off the sidewalk while doing so or park next door in the commuter parking and walk the short distance. It's well worth the effort.
