Need to add a pantry cabinet next to our existing kitchen cabinets. Have to tear down a non structural wall to fit it with our existing cabinets.
So many companies out there. Any recommendations? |

You may need to do some more work than just remove the wall. In most cases the flooring will not be under the wall, so you will need matching flooring. Same goes for the ceiling which will need to be patched to match existing ceiling. Also, you could have electrical wiring or plumbing in the wall. You may also need to open the wall behind the new cabinet location to install suitable wood for supporting the cabinet. IMHO, I would contact the supplier of the cabinets and see if they have a recommendation for this type of work.
I tend to do my own work, so I do not have any experience to recommend a contractor.

I built a pantry closet in my house. Depending on the house layout, you might consider forming a closet using the wall you are wanting to remove as one of the walls. I can’t visualize based on the limited info, but if feasible a real pantry can be much more spacious than a pantry cabinet.
As VT has mentioned there is a fair amount to it. Flooring, baseboard molding, new studs, electrical, lighting, paint plaster. But all doable. Hopefully there is no ductwork in there. That can be a show stopper. Sorry I also don’t have a contractor recommendation . |
