Try a reboot of your phone, last resort a factory reset in which case you may lose a lot if not all of your data. See if you can back up your phone to your account with your cell provider. You can also try going to your providers local store and see if they can help.

Your problem seems to a phone problem. The car might only be a display for your phone. Many cars have a map/gps that is independent of your phone. If that is the case turn off your phone and use the car map.

You'll want to go to your settings, then to APPs, then PAUSE or STOP Facebook and Messenger (don't uninstall, just put them on hold for now). Then, back out of your settings, and power off your phone. Turn it back on, and look up on the upper right of the screen the second it starts showing you icons on it. It should say 5G or 4G, right next to the little bars that show you how much battery you have left. That SHOULD change to the wifi icon (it looks a little like a fan shape) if you're doing this from home. That's fine. If it doesn't, it just means you don't have a wifi connection. You don't need that for GPS so don't worry about that right now. It's just something you should be aware of. If the 5G or 4G don't show up, then there's a problem with your cellular service. Next thing to check: swipe down from the top, and press AND HOLD the "Location" button. That will open a new window with a toggle switch for "Use location." Make sure it's toggled ON. Once you've done that, look further down on the same window, and you'll see "App location permissions". Press that. It'll bring up a list of all apps that use location services. Your GPS app should be on the "allowed all the time" OR "Allowed only while in use" list. Either is fine. If it's not on those lists, then keep scrolling down until you find your GPS app. Press on it. It'll open up your GPS app's location permissions page. Make sure it's on either "allowed all the time" or "allow only while using the app." And make sure you have "Use precise location" toggled ON. Once you've done all these steps, power off your phone, and power it back on again. Your gps should be working fine now. Worry about Facebook and Messenger tomorrow. It's more permission stuff, which you'd have to open with a different process. Your doctor's office directions are more important right now. |
