Default Why do I hit the ball better on the driving range than on the golf course!

Stage Fright! An actor does a dress rehearsal to review their lines. Once on stage if they are distracted by the audience or hopes of a good performance, they fail to perform. Golfers are the same way.

If you cannot perform on the course it's because you forgot your lines or you don't have the right ones. There is no automatic in golf. That is the mother of all fkups.

When a rocket ship is about to take off, they have a countdown. This lets everyone know whats about to happen when. If they did not do that, the astronauts would freak out knowing they are sitting on a large bomb. The countdown takes their minds off the bomb and into the countdown. Golfers need to do the same.

A sports psychologist was asked what to do if you have a 2 stroke lead going into the 16th hole of the final round of a tournament. The answer was...when it's your turn to hit...thats your Time on stage....focus on your routine...it will busy the mind so it cant sabotage the result.

There are 2 routines in golf. A pre-swing and an in-swing routine. These should only take 15 to 25 seconds combined at most. But must be done for success to happen.

The pre-swing is all that boring stuff. Grip, Aim, Stance, Ball Position, and Trigger. The trigger move is the last pre-swing set-up item that tells you it's time to go in-swing. Never assume the
pre-swing stuff is automatic it's a check list to follow to make sure there is nothing out of place. Just like they do with a rocket.

The in-swing is a list of feels. As Tiger used to say, I need to find my feels.
A backswing feel and a downswing feel. Only 2 needed, thats less than half of the pre-swing list. Sweet!

Now I know a lot of golfers stand over the ball hoping for divine intervention. But the Bible says that you have to help yourself to be helped. So for more consistency everywhere you need a couple of definitive routines. It's what all the tour players and better players have. They put you in a position for success and create a mind to body defined movement. Very Sweet!

So, if you have stage fright on the golf course, you can check into any of the pro-shops
and purchase better scripts for pre-swing and in-swing. Then your performances will become much better and more consistent. Very, Very, Sweet!

Because the pro knows the cost of a bucket of balls and the "side effects" of a bad swing????????

Performance Anxiety! On the golf course or in the bedroom, it's a killer.

Nobody knows the trouble I've seen. Nobody knows my sorrow.
