We moved into TV about a year ago and love it. We are struggling finding a dentist and primary doctor that:
1. Doesn’t upsell, especially dental services 2. Easy to understand- no heavy accent 3. Preferably graduated or credentialed from an American school, or equivalent Recommendations are greatly appreciated. Last edited by Coop63; Yesterday at 09:02 AM. |

For a Dr., I've been really pleased with Dr Ronald Grose (CenterWell, Lake Deaton). Straight shooter. Told me things I didn't want to hear, but that's my problem. Glad he did.

Took us well over a year to find an MD that I viewed as competent, but we hit the jackpot with Florian Gegaj, MD (Cleveland Health Center, (352) 353-0092, offices in Brownwood and LSL). He runs a tight ship, and actually has competent people in support roles (a rarity in TV, but you've probably noticed that already). He has several NPs working for him: we routinely see Aubrey Canal, NP, about as often as we see Dr. Gegaj. Very personable as well as extremely competent. Two things, in addition to their medical competence, makes Cleveland Health Center that "jackpot". First, they'll go to bat for you if you've had a hard time getting to see a referred specialist. To make a long story short, I had a quoted 3-week wait pared down to two days after talking to the folks at Cleveland Health Center, and that was not the only time it happened. Second, if you're an established patient and you call with an immediate problem they'll see you that day if at all possible. Twice in the past two months, a call early in the A.M. resulted in an appointment that same day. They'll also see you via televisit if necessary. Dentist? We see Dr. Vitaly Levintov, D.M.D. at Marion Dental Group and couldn't be happier. Dr. Vitaly (as well as the other dentists who work there, as I understand), as well as being quite competent, won't try to upsell you if not absolutely necessary. We started out w.Dr. Ha, who has since moved on, but I recall going to see her not long after we moved here with a broken tooth, fully expecting a recommendation for a crown. She took one look and said "I can fix that", and did. No crown, and the tooth is still doing it's job six years later. Had a similar situation w/Dr. Vitaly just a few months back, recommending a treatment far short of a crown that seems to be doing it's job just fine. Oh...one more thing. You'll find that a lot of the medical practitioners here in TV are from other countries. That is no reflection on their skill. Maybe there are medical people posting here who would correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that if they PRACTICE in Florida they meet the licensure requirements to practice IN Florida. And both Dr. Levintov and Dr. Gegaj speak excellent English, better than a lot of Villagers I've met, as a matter of fact. Last edited by ThirdOfFive; Today at 07:54 AM. |

Definitely stay away from Wildwood Dentistry. They are nothing but up-sell. They will give you a tour of their crown making machine and try to sell you at least one and possibly two before you leave your first visit. I have dental insurance that pays 100% for preventative care, they told me my cleaning was going to cost $600 after insurance. I left and never went back. Should be illegal.

We have used Baylee Dental in Baylee plaza, route 441 just south of route 42, since 2013 and are very happy with the practice. NOTE: they do not accept insurance but provide the paperwork for you to submit to your carrier.
