Although he was a screwball in his personal life I enjoyed his work very much. R I P.

Brilliant Shakespearean actor, terrific in both Star Trek and X-Men. Prolific activist. Not so great with long-term relationships with women. He supported an organization to rescue pit bulls and fostered some.

My neighbors would not be happy with me adopting a pit bull. Been looking for a new pooch though. Seems like most of the dogs in the Marion and Sumter County Animal Shelters are pit bulls or pit bull mixes. I have met some very sweet pit bulls. Some the opposite though.

I usually do not care about the personal life of artists of all kinds unless it goes into the criminal area and even then I will try to get the most objective assessment of the facts.

If an author writes a great book I usually don't care about the person's private life. Unless crimes are alleged.

Well - there's no such official breed called a "pit bull." It's just a term used to describe any one of a few different breeds. The American Pit Bull Terrier is the only one that has the term in its name, but Staffies (American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier) and American Bullies all fit into the general "pit bull" category.

We have a couple of AmStaffies in our general area, and quite a few pit mixes. All the ones in our area are pretty chipper and cheerful. Most are a little too excitable, wanting to jump and run circles around you when you walk by. But I think that's just because their owners aren't quite as active as the dogs need them to be, and they're burning off a lot of energy.

I have met some Chihuahuas who think they are 70 lbs or more and some pit bulls who are as timid as you would think a 6lb pooch would be.

Back to the subject of Patrick Stewart; I will miss his acting movie, TV shows and music plays.
