Hahaha. Always voted early.
In VA they restored voting rights to a dog that died 5 years ago. That concerned the dog owner when they got the notice in the mail. Good dog |

I did that 5 weeks ago. Vote by Mail is a beautiful thing. Supervisor of Elections sent it to me on a Friday. I received it on Saturday. Brought it to the post office on Monday. SoE confirmed it was received on Wednesday.

Then again, I'm a firm believer that the best and most reliable voting "machine" is and always will be a ballot and a #2 pencil. |

Vote by Mail was great when I was working, especially in a state that was all vote by mail. Now I have more time and while I have confidence in the USPS I have slightly more confidence in sliding my ballot into the machine myself. It's been a quiet morning so far with no political texts, calls, or emails!

I don't remember the last time I saw a #2 pencil at my polling place. Technology advances (even if very slowly)

1. the day before Election day - something happens (broke your foot, got the flu, idiot son decided his kid's wedding HAS to be that week, in another state/country) and you become unable to physically show up and vote on Election day. 2. once your vote is counted, most of the communications from political groups stop coming to annoy you. Some will persist - but not nearly as badly. Mail ballots come out 6 weeks before the election. You can save yourself 5 weeks of constant nagging by returning the ballot the following business day at the post office. 3. If you have your mail-in ballot, you can fill it out in full - follow instructions for sealing it. Bring it to the EARLY voting polling place, during the early voting period. If there's a line to get in - you can skip the line and drop the envelope off in the box. If there's no line, you're not obligated to use your mail-in ballot. Just surrender it and ask for an in-person ballot. |

Sent my mailed ballot in the day after I got it. Or around there. It was signed, sealed and then delivered.
Think I have voted in the past in Nevada, Minnesota, California and Florida but was not old enough in Wisconsin and was only in Utah 10 days or so. And never registered to vote in Illinois nor Colorado nor Arizona. |
