Default Lady Lake commissioners advance gas station at CR 466 and Rolling Acres Road

After a mediated settlement, a scaled-back convenience store with fuel pumps passed first reading. The final vote is Nov. 16.

Gas station, bank, or pharmacy.... it seems every intersection needs at least three.

Great idea by the owner though. With all the traffic through that intersection, the new developments just south, the RV park across the street, and nearest gas station about 1/2 mile away there should be quite a few customers

One of the things they considered a good thing, was that there'd be plenty of foot traffic from the soccer field, because it's going to be a convenience store. I think it's going to be a nightmare. It's already a very busy intersection without tons of foot traffic. Now add in all the people from Recreation Plantation crossing the street, and kids after their soccer practice crossing the intersection (it's catty-corner so they'd have to cross the entire intersection, not just one street).

I personally think this is a bad idea. I can't imagine a gas station/convenience store at this location. Accidents waiting to happen.

Yep. Quite a few customers and quite a few traffic issues

Yes, quite a few traffic issues. I wouldn't want it if I lived in that area. But it does make sense from a business owner perspective.

If there were a gas station there, I would use it fairly frequently. Living near Eastport I only get up that way once per month, but I always pass that corner and often need gas.

There you people go again, trying to make sense of the obvious.
Don't you realize the world we live in?

Let's build this thing and see how much traffic we can tie up mentality.

It's like those flock camera's, who the hell gave anyone permission to install
them to spy on people.

Welcome to the out-of-control world of 2026 and beyond.

Just become a member at one of the three big-box stores. Easily 25-30 cents lower than anywhere else. We've seen as much as 50 cents difference.

There is a Sam's club just up the street.

Default Already a gas station there!

The new Walmart has a gas station at that corner already! And a convenience store? Give me a break! The Walmart has more than you could ever want!

I believe you are thinking of a different corner.

Bad idea at an already BAD intersection! Inadequate entrance and exit opportunities from various directions.

Definitely wrong corner. There's no Walmart there.
